The statue of the nightingale of the Albanian song, Nexhmije Pagarusha, the work of the sculptor Agon Qosa, was inaugurated in Pagarushë of Malisheva.

In her 40-year musical career, she has performed in folk music and opera.

"Baresha" is one of the masterpieces of her interpretation. This song was composed by her husband Rexho Mulliqi, with lyrics by the poet Rifat Kukaj.

In 2012, the great Albanian singer, Nexhmije Pagarusha, was decorated with the Order "Honour of the Nation" with the motivation: "Outstanding artist with a rare voice and virtuoso interpretation, who gave hope and confidence to the Albanian people of Kosovo in the difficult years of the occupation Serbian and which added new values ​​and qualities to Albanian culture, becoming an important point of reference in its history".

On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of Nexhmije Pagarusha's birthday, American President Donald Trump awarded her a Medal of Appreciation.
