Chinese scientists have created the world's first artificial intelligence child that has the emotional behavior and skills of a 3-4 year old child.
The model, named Tong Tong (Little Girl), was created by the Beijing Institute for General Artificial Intelligence.
Although Tong Tong now has the skills of a child, he is improving. Scientists say that through further human interaction, Tong Tong can develop its skills, values and knowledge.
The team said Tong Tong is capable of self-learning and may have an emotional involvement not yet seen in other AI models.
Her ability to interpret human emotions goes as far as identifying and expressing feelings such as happiness, anger and sadness as well as reacting in accordance with the emotional state of others.
Tong Tong was introduced last month. Visitors could interact with her, watch her display human-like abilities such as fixing crooked picture frames or cleaning up spilled milk.
Tong Tong also has facial expressions and gestures, and can even talk. She can distinguish right from wrong, express her attitude in different situations and has the power to shape the future.
