In memory of Lin Loc, the mirditas painter and the national dimension of his work

If he were alive, today we would have gathered in Rrëshen and wished the painter Lin Loc his 75th birthday. Surely, he would welcome us with a jubilee exhibition, smiling nobly and with the kindness that characterized him as a dominant feature in his whole demeanor of the engaged citizen as much as of the elite artist, whose credit does not rest more in the fact that he is the first mirdita painter, as mentioned in encyclopedic writings or voices, but in the outstanding quality of his work, which makes Lin Loc the most representative among mirdita painters, set designers and costume designers in the national pantheon of these genres of art.
His name and the work he created make the painter Lin Loc, together with the poet Gjokë Beci and the first soloist of the so famous men's group of the "Mirdita" ensemble Fran Vorfi, one of the three referential and representative heights of Mirdita art in the mosaic of rich of national art.
A master of the brush, but also an attentive guardian of the ethnographic wealth of the Mirdita region, a diligent educator with all passion and dedication, but also a scenographer and costume designer full of skill and outstanding artistic elegance, Lin Loci has left a rich legacy that deserves to be studied with attention and promoted with passion and seriousness.
The achievements of the folklore ensemble "Mirdita" at the National Folklore Festival of Gjirokastra in October 1978 and from there on in many subsequent activities, undoubtedly have in their foundation the professionally special and scientifically argued work of Lin Loci, this is reflected in the wealth ethnographic that that ensemble has presented at the same level with the vocal and instrumental interpretation.
Meanwhile, the worldly man and his life in its versatility, prominent characters and so expressive portraits, historical characters but also ordinary anonymous ones, the landscapes of worldly nature and the rich and varied colors that it offers, became Lin Loc's food spiritual of his muse, that he knew so neatly to offer us with a rich, diverse and quality work, from portraits to compositional paintings, landscapes, mosaics, etc.
Lin Loci was not lucky enough to live long. He left when his family and relatives needed him most and when he was at the peak of his artistic maturity.
He left without leaving us much work and other works.
