Book Fair/ Academic Artan Fuga is declared "Best Author of the Year",

Academic and researcher Artan Fuga was declared the best author of the year by the jury of the 28th Book Fair for the novel "The Second Punishment of Eve", which he praised as an impressive novel structure, where the myth of origin, the dramas of family and urban life, and the technological developments of contemporary times are intertwined.

Combining the philosophical and psycho-social dimensions, Professor Fuga analyzes the changes in society over three decades.

"It never occurred to me that a novel would take me years longer than any other scholarly book. For me, the characters, whether they are in power, whether they are bureaucrats, whether they are people with their daily troubles, we are all together in a universal guilt," said academic Fuga, among other things.

The jury headed by Elsa Skënderi awarded Virgjil Muçi as the best translator of the year for his masterful translation of Percival Everett's work James, winner of the 2025 Pulitzer Prize, which, according to the jury, reflects his deep knowledge of the nature of the Albanian language, but also his talent as a writer.

At the awards ceremony, an annual tradition of the Fair, researcher Albi Xhiku was selected as the author of the best research book with his work "Pages of Albanian Historiography".

This year, the award for the best author of children's literature, which was absent from the fair last year, returned. Valbona Banka was recognized for her novel about Aria, in my hand, with the motivation for the pleasant narrative and with the identity signs of our country and language.

The prize for translation from French to Albanian went to translator Urim Nerguti, who brought Kamel Daoud's novel Hyrija to Albanian readers.
