Death anniversary of the unforgettable actor Kadri Roshi

On February 6, 2007, the well-known figure of Albanian cinematography and stage, Kadri Roshi, passed away. Roshi was born on January 4, 1924 in Ballsh, Mallakastra, in a family from Libohova. The actor experienced a troubled childhood, as he lost his mother when he was only 2 years old and became an orphan ten years later, when his father also died.
His career as an actor began at the age of 21 on the stage of the so-called People's Theater. In 1951, he completed his journey dedicated to university education, completed in Prague. Upon returning to his country of origin, Roshi resumed the execution of the first roles in the log of the country's artistic life, the National Theatre.
It is estimated that the actor has played about 180 roles on stage and in cinematography, leaving an indelible portrait in the memory of television viewers and spectators. He has been immortalized on celluloid thanks to a multitude of roles, ranging from the slave Aesop to the caretaker of "Poppies on the Wall", as well as from the prominent defender of the Albanian language in the Renaissance to the old man Mere.

For his contribution to the art of speech and performance, Roshi was awarded the Career Award at the Art Film Festival in 1995, the Grand Honorary Award in 1997 and the Honor of the Nation award in 1999.
