Celebrations in Kosovo, Eid al-Fitr prayer takes place at the Great Mosque in Pristina

After the month of Ramadan, millions of Muslim believers headed to mosques around the world this morning to pray the Eid al-Fitr prayer.
Eid al-Fitr has no fixed date. It depends on the sighting of the new moon. Eid al-Fitr celebrations also mark the end of the month of Ramadan. Family and friends gather together for prayers.
Many believers also use this holiday as a time to give, because the entire month of Ramadan is in itself a time of reflection.
The central manifestation of the Eid al-Fitr holiday in Kosovo was held at the Great Mosque in Pristina, which began with the prayer, after which there was a thematic lecture dedicated to this holiday. After the Eid al-Fitr prayer, Mufti Tërnava said that this holiday has a deep religious and social significance, as it is a reward from God, therefore this moment is rightly considered a moment of reflection, thanksgiving and prayer, recalling the importance of piety, gratitude, solidarity and family unity.
He said that the family is the nucleus on which life is built and it is an obligation to care. Tërnava expressed the concern of the Islamic Community of Kosovo and the entire society regarding the murders that have occurred in the country, especially in the last two weeks, where four citizens lost their lives.
