Calling of the constitutive session in Kosovo, PDK elected MP reacts

PDK's elected MP, Abelard Tahiri, has reacted after the constitutive session of the Parliament was called by the country's president, Vjosa Osmani.
On April 15, the president set the date for the constitution of the Assembly resulting from the February 9 elections, a full 65 days after the elections were held.
Former PDK Parliamentary Group Chairman Tahiri emphasizes that "now is the time for concrete and responsible institutional action."
He said that Kosovo today faces a series of urgent and worrying challenges.
"The cost of living is becoming unaffordable for many families. Our citizens need a government that puts their well-being and interests at the center of its agenda. Public safety has deteriorated significantly. The alarming increase in cases of murder and other serious crimes is seriously undermining the security of our society," he wrote on Facebook.
He also mentioned the European Union sanctions that, according to him, are weighing on our country, damaging its international subjectivity and endangering Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic future.
"Under these conditions, the immediate formation of new institutions with a different approach than what we have seen over the last four years is more than necessary," he wrote on Facebook, KosovaPress reports.
According to him, "the citizens of Kosovo have spoken clearly with their vote. Now is the time for concrete and responsible institutional action."
The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, after certifying the final results of the elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, held on February 9, 2025 and in accordance with constitutional authorizations and legal deadlines, has called the first meeting of the ninth Legislature of the Assembly of Kosovo for April 15, 2025, the Office of the Presidency announces, KosovaPress reports.
The parliamentary elections were held on February 9 and the results were certified by the CEC last week. Based on these results, LVV came first with 48 MPs, PDK second with 24 MPs, LDK third with 20 MPs and AAK-NISMA fourth with 8 MPs.
