The stalemate in Kosovo ends! The President is elected and the law on the Special Court is voted on

The session took place following the political agreement proposed by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who had proposed former Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Justina Shiroka-Pula for the position of president.
As part of the proposed agreement, Kurti had requested the support of the PDK for the presidency on condition that he secure majority votes for the Law on Specialized Chambers.
The PDK, led by Bedri Hamza, had announced that Shiroka-Pula's name was acceptable for the position of president.
During the session, MPs initially voted to approve the Law on Specialized Chambers.
The Assembly then proceeded to vote on the election of the new president of Kosovo.
In the final vote, within the limits of the conditional terms (October 6), Justina Shiroka-Pula received the necessary votes to be elected President of the Republic of Kosovo.
With the conclusion of the vote, Justina Shiroka-Pula is expected to take office as the new president of Kosovo, after completing constitutional procedures.
Today's session comes after a period of political deadlock between parliamentary forces, with the election of the president and the Law on Specialized Chambers at the center of developments.
