The Mysteries of Che Guevara: Five Things You Should Know About the Hero of Revolutions

It's been 48 years since the assassination of Ernesto Che Guevara, the revolutionary who inspired generations.
Che was executed on October 9, 1967 in La Higuera, Bolivia.
His body rests in the Mausoleum specially built for him in Santa Clara, Cuba.
Although almost half a century has passed since his death, there are some things that still remain a mystery about him.
Here are five things you should know about Che Guevara
1. Where does the nickname 'Che' come from? Argentine Ernesto Guevara de la Serna was nicknamed "Che" by his Cuban comrades during the war in Guatemala because Guevara often used the word "Che" without any particular motive. In Argentina this word is usually used to draw attention to the interlocutor.
2. How his iconic photo became known. "Heroic Warrior", this is the name of this photo of Guevara, which is the most widely shared photo of him around the world. The photographer who took the photo in Havana in 1960, Alberto Diaz Gutierrez, did not profit from this photo. He gave it to the Milanese publisher Giangacomo Feltrinelli in 1967, who put it on the cover of the album "Ditar in Bolivia". The photo was then shared at breakneck speed.
3. He also had the nickname "Fuser". "Furious Serna", an epithet that had the abbreviation Fuser. Combination between his nickname and last name. This nickname was given to him during his youth when he played rugby at San Isidor. He was a fast bowler and had a distinctive roar during attacks on the pitch. "I will leave the sport when I am dead", was his favorite expression. He also enjoyed basketball, baseball and rowing.
4. Where was Guevara stronger than Fidel Castro? Guevara also had a crazy passion for chess. He was trained by Chilean champion Rene Letelier. Guevara often played with Fidel in the mountains during the revolution, but witnesses say that the Cuban leader was not as good as Guevara.
5. Why is one of the films about Guevara called "The Motorcycle Diary"? Because Guevara had a weak spot on the motorcycle. He traveled all over Argentina, Chile, Peru and Colombia to go to a center where lepers were treated to help them. He was a fan of motorcycles and never left an opportunity without riding them.
