"MAY 11"/ BKH and SPAK operation in Elbasan and Librazhd/

The unusual presence of agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) and prosecutors of the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) was noticed this Saturday, first in the city of Elbasan and then in Librazhd.

This presence will be present every day until May 11, 2025 as part of a broad monitoring and verification operation of all developments related to the electoral campaign for the parliamentary elections of May 11. This weekend morning

Initially, the agents and prosecutors held a working meeting in Elbasan with the Director of the Elbasan Local Police Directorate, Director Fatmir Hoxha, and Mr. Kreshnik Ajazi, Head of the Prosecution Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan.

After the official meeting between them, the entire group was seen at one of the city's most popular cafes, a move that has attracted the attention of citizens due to the unusual nature of their joint presence in public.

After Elbasan, the group in question moved to the city of Librazhd where they were also seen in the city center in another pub exposed to the public. There, another meeting was held with the head of the police station, Chief Commissioner Elton Halili, and the head of order Gramoz Dafku, to discuss the current situation of the campaign and in particular a case recently reported on several portals, which alluded to barbaric physical violence against a citizen.

Preliminary verifications indicate that the news was false, a fabrication without any factual basis, and work is already underway to identify the persons responsible for spreading this false information aimed at destabilizing the electoral climate.

According to official sources, this increased presence of justice structures and law enforcement bodies in Elbasan and Librazhd is not accidental. BKH and SPAK, in cooperation with the State Intelligence Service (SHISH), the OSCE and the Financial Intelligence Agency, are determined in their work to guarantee a clean electoral process unaffected by criminal or political factors.

These institutions are fully prepared to monitor any violation of the electoral law, from the use of public resources for electoral purposes, abuse of administration, the influence of organized crime, the circulation of dirty money, to vote buying. Sources from SPAK indicate that any candidate caught violating the law risks losing his mandate and facing criminal prosecution.

The Elbasan region during this election period will be one of the most "armored" among the 12 regions of the country in this electoral process. The monitoring group, headed by prosecutor Olsi Dado, is following all developments on the ground in real time, while investigators are equipped with advanced technology to document any violations that may occur during this process.

Moreover, the media has come under strict surveillance by law enforcement agencies like never before. According to sources from the BKH, several portals have been involved in spreading fake news aimed at creating panic and tension in the electoral climate.

The latest case from Librazhdi, where an act of serious violence against a citizen was alleged, turned out to be a fabrication, and investigations have already been launched to prosecute the persons responsible for this deliberate act of disinformation.

This joint inter-institutional operation is an indicator of the determination of Albanian and international institutions to ensure the integrity of the May 11 elections and to crack down on any attempt that undermines the free and fair vote of Albanian citizens.
