People's Advocate/ Ervin Salianji: Among the most serious mistakes of the DP. Strategic ambiguity gives Rama an advantage, we must confront him with revolt

The member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party, Ervin Salianji, states that the Democratic Party, with its stance towards the process of electing the People's Advocate, committed one of the most serious mistakes. In an interview for RTSH, Salianji brought to attention that the Democratic Party has committed a series of serious strategic mistakes over the years, which according to him have given an advantage to the majority and have undermined the credibility of the opposition.
Commenting on the debate on the Ombudsman and internal decision-making, Salianji stated that the DP must have clear political positions and not repeat the mistakes that, according to him, have allowed Edi Rama to consolidate power.
He emphasized that the opposition should focus on government scandals, unify structures, and organize mass protests, which he considered a necessity for confronting the majority.
Ervin Salianji: I support the doctor, Mr. Berisha when he said that it was a mistake of the DP. It was among the most serious mistakes of the DP, with the only institution that has had a consensus so far. These are the elements that we discussed in the meeting, and that the DP must be clear in its decision-making. When there is no political directive and it is going on for 15 years. Two years ago we went with a single name. An unforgivable mistake that gave the majority the opportunity to choose. And every ability of the leaders of the DP who are not engaged, let's include them so that these mistakes do not happen again. This is a great cost of the DP in perception, in the logic of strategic ambiguity, lack of decision-making, etc. The DP has nothing to do with Edi Rama when Edi Rama does not keep any promises and finds every form to reduce the DP in public opinion. The DP without having a clear proposal in public for the electoral system, for the vote of emigrants, for changing this electoral system which is unacceptable for all the criteria that a democratic society should have, the rejection of coalitions and the will of the parties, should have nothing to do with him (Rama). The DP loses points today for any concessions with Edi Rama. The DP has nothing to do with Edi Rama if Edi Rama does not sign the issues that the DP puts forward.
I am not part of the DP parliamentary group. If they were to ask me, as we did 3 years ago, there was a vote among the group on the names for the People's Advocate and we came up with a candidate, the excellent lawyer Ledio Braho, we brought him to the session and Edi Rama did not admit that he did not like him. So, a process with one candidate. We have had candidacies that represent the spirit of what the People's Advocate should represent. We cannot leave out Besim Ndregjoni from the class of former politically persecuted, Adriana Kalana, Jola Hysa or Tartar Bazaj.
Instead of talking about the government scandals, the scandalous contracts of "KYAO", the forcible retention of the deputy prime minister... The DP today has a narrative, we made a mistake by not participating in the territorial reform, we made a mistake by voting for the justice reform and the Vetting commissions, we made a mistake by handing over the mandates, we made a mistake by voting for this electoral system, we made a mistake here and there - but let's stop it, that's what we're all saying, let's find an efficient way so that the DP establishment doesn't make these mistakes, let's stop and beat Edi Rama because we can't tell you how many times Edi Rama has thrown it at us. Edi Rama is known to be an autocrat who uses the justice system, the power of cardboard, that has no logic of state formation but of personalizing the state. We know this, why do we have to do it again?
It is good news that protests are being announced and it will be very good news if they come true. I have requested it since the first meeting of the Presidency after my release from prison and I have constantly requested a revolt. In Bulgaria, mass protests caused the prime minister to resign. There are mass protests that paralyze the life of the government or other forms of protest that show revolt in relation to government scandals, the 50 million euros of the tunnel, in relation to the involvement of the company that connects KAYO to the army or to the port of Durres, Porto Romano, the Qukës-Qafë Plloç road, scandals in healthcare, etc. I am part of the DP, I am everywhere. Of course I will be at the Presidency meeting. I am in the DP and I will be there, the members are of the DP, they are equally valuable. Someone who has concerns and will take the party forward is more important than someone who is paid and receives a salary to do a job. I have no office, no status, no pay, I do this because I have an obligation, a passion, and a vocation.
