Vlora Airport, Balluku, certified: Historic moment, operational with all services in the summer

At Vlora International Airport, VLO, the first certification flight was carried out today, also realizing the handover of the work on the air infrastructure.
After the landing of the certification aircraft, at the ceremony attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, emphasized that Vlora International Airport is the most important investment related to national pride and a promise made by Edi Rama.
Balluku emphasized that the consortium has delivered a runway according to the best standards that meets all conditions.
"This is a historic moment for Vlora but also for Kosovo, as it is an investment by Kosovar entrepreneur Begjet Paciolli," declared Balluku, while noting that "the runway has been certified today and step by step all procedures will be continued so that this airport is ready in the summer, to be operational with all services."
"When we started this project, we were talking about an investment of around 104 million euros. Today, we are talking about an investment of 140 million euros," she emphasized.
"The Vlora Airport terminal is 17 thousand m2 and together with the investment value, they constitute tripled figures compared to the initial study, due to the increased flow in Civil Aviation, given that Albania in the last two years holds first place in terms of the increase in aircraft landings and take-offs at Rinas Airport, but also in terms of the number of passengers," said Balluku.
