Yesterday, journalist Ersid Karaj, of the investigative show "Xhadat" on MCN TV, reported a case of violence within the Kurbin municipality institution.
The journalist states that as media representatives, they went to this institution for a complaint case from residents of several villages in the Kurbin Mountains, who had major infrastructure concerns, but the Kurbin municipality, according to him, has become a curfew that is arrogantly protected by strongmen and its own employees.
He writes that the municipal police and unauthorized people who entered the municipality have become partners and have hindered the work of him and his colleagues. At the moment of the entry of unauthorized people, that is, "the strongmen of Laç" inside the municipality, the police did not intervene at all to protect the media from the physical and verbal violence exerted against them, but together with these people, they forcibly expelled the media from the institution.
Following this reaction, the mayor of Kurbin, Majlinda Cara, reacted regarding this event, apologizing to the journalist and the show's team.

Known from publications on social networks regarding an incident that occurred near the premises of the Kurbin Municipality and the reporting made public by journalist Ersid Karaj, I would like to make this reaction, expressing my deep regret for any misunderstanding or unpleasant experience that occurred during the time that representatives of the "Xhadat" show were near this institution.
First of all, respect for the media and freedom of information are essential values of democracy and an obligation of all of us without exception.
The event made public by the media representative will be analyzed with the utmost seriousness and I am personally committed to immediately initiating a full verification of the behavior of the Municipal Police officers and any other person who was present in the municipality building at that moment.
If the involvement of individuals who have acted outside their competence or with inappropriate language and behavior is proven, appropriate measures will be taken without any hesitation.
Finally, I would like to publicly apologize to the journalist on my own behalf and on behalf of the institution I represent for the incident and the concern created, as for me, any complaint or criticism is only an opportunity for improvement and not at all a reason for incidents of this nature.
