Writer and candidate for deputy of the Euro-Atlantic Coalition in the Tirana district, Rudi Erebara, during an interview for the “Ekspres” show on RTSH, expressed concern about the prolongation of the political transition in Albania. He emphasized that the same individuals have dominated the political scene for 35 years, negatively affecting the lives of citizens and causing a massive exodus of the population. Erebara emphasized the importance of supporting the justice system and strengthening institutions to ensure a better future for the country.

Rudi Erebara was born in 1971. He is a poet, writer and translator. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana in 1995, he began his career as a political analyst, journalist and editor. Erebara is the author of two poetry collections: “Fillon Pamja” (1994) and “Lëng Argjendi” (2013). He has also written two novels: “Vezët e tëllëzave” (2010) and “Epika e yjeve të mënjëshit” (2016), for which he was awarded the European Union Prize for Literature in 2017.

Excerpt from Erebara's interview

"The motivation is that we need to get out of the situation that we call protracted, a protracted state of transition. This is post-communism in the physical sense. 20 years ago my daughter was not born. She voted twice, she turned 20 at university. These are exactly the same people who came to the student city when I was exactly the age of my girlfriend. I'm talking 35 years ago, exactly the same people who lead politics. And what have they done to politics? They have instilled in Albanians so much hatred for each other that they no longer make sense. Politics has been done on television and in the media, it is discussed as a sport. And the responsibility is as if two teams are playing there and whoever wins, it's a big deal, it's a goal deal. And here we are talking about our lives. 2 million people have left Albania for work. 530 thousand continue to leave, with statistics to call it accurate, only in the last 12 years. And they are ready to flee, I have fled, I have attempted to flee about 6 times. And it continues to be a terrible, unproductive situation, both mentally and physically. What do we propose? First of all, we must return to justice. One is to support justice, that is, to support the policeman who is catching the thief," said Erebara.
