The leader of the "Albania Becomes" movement, Adriatik Lapaj, was invited to the News24 studio, where he stated that the DP has been hesitant to cooperate with his political force, claiming that there were concerns within it about the increase in support for him.

Lapaj said that he has always considered it the legitimate right of every political party to organize protests, adding that he had expected the DP to join joint opposition initiatives.

According to him, an earlier unification of the opposition and the creation of "greater social cohesion" would have influenced political developments in the country.

"I was ready to take two steps back and set up a citizens' committee. If we had done it in January, I am convinced that Edi Rama would not have delayed the situation like this," Lapaj said.

He also stated that his party will participate in the elections in all 61 municipalities in the country for municipal councils, while decisions on mayoral candidates will be made at a later stage.

Lapaj emphasized that citizens in Albania are tired of the existing political class and are demanding change, justice, and greater opportunities to live and work in the country.

He also presented four main pillars of his movement's political program: opening electoral lists, the vote for immigrants, the law on referendums, and the depoliticization of electoral administration.

According to Lapaj, these measures are essential for changing the current system and guaranteeing fairer and more credible elections in Albania.

Adriatik Lapaj : It is the legitimate right of every party to protest, and I even expected the DP to join us. We said that a great social cohesion should be created. I was ready to take 2 steps back, and set up a citizens' committee. If we had done it in January, I am convinced that Edi Rama would not have postponed it. In the DP, a number of people were worried that Adriatik would win.

We will compete in 61 municipalities for municipal councils. We will decide on mayors later.

I have felt an extraordinary desire for change. People are tired of the same political class that has been recycling for 34 years. In every city, from north to south, I see citizens who are not asking for handouts, but are asking for justice, asking for opportunities to work in their country and not to see their children fleeing into emigration.

We have four main pillars that we believe will change the fate of this country:

Opening of lists: Citizens should elect their own MP, not the party leader.

The vote of immigrants: Those who sustain the country's economy with their remittances cannot be left out of decision-making.

Law on Referendums: The people must be asked about major national issues.

Depoliticization of electoral administration: Elections cannot count those who compete.

Skeptics have a right to be so because they have often been disappointed, but history has shown that no system is invincible when citizens unite. The current system is held up by fear and apathy. We are working to break exactly that: to convince people that their vote has power if the conditions of the competition are equal. It is not an easy battle, it is a confrontation with an old fortress, but the walls are starting to crumble.
