Gjin Gjoni: The doctor and I feel like we are part of the 'new Albania' that the protesters are demanding! Those who say 'Berisha in prison' are paid
Democratic Party MP, Gjin Gjoni, during a statement on the show Të Paekspozuarit, said that he feels like he is part of the new Albania that the protesters are seeking.
Asked by Ylli Rakipi about the main slogan of the protest "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", Gjoni said that those who shout for Berisha are paid.
Ylli Rakipi: We have the title "Protest, old Albania and new Albania", we want to say that old Albania and new Albania have arrived. It is a bit absurd and ridiculous. Old Albania has done all the things here. The protesters shout "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison." President Berisha ironically supports the protest with great force. How do we understand it? If he supports the protest, he should leave. Hours in prison, okay, no, but leave.
Gjin Gjoni : I have to talk about what you discussed. The situation we are talking about today, the protest is not a consequence of a Zvërnec or Rrjolli, it is due to the 13-year-old way of governing and the cup is full. Each of you there and the citizens know that the cup is full. There are many factors that have led the people to rise up in protest. One of the main issues is the high level of corruption, election theft, organized crime. These have led all the actors to unite, and to come to the immediate conclusion, the resignation of Edi Rama.
Now, the problem arises in the protest, there are also people who say, "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison. The issue is simple, the people who are protesting, even from the information I have, it turns out that they are paid, because I have information that some mayors bring in buses and vans, people to make the protest dirty. The DP has its own faults, in all the problems, but also the DP that has denounced step by step the problems that they have embraced.
Ylli Rakipi: They are shouting at the entire establishment, which they call old Albania. The new generation has serious problems, they can't pay the rent. Have you talked about resignation there in the party? Has the leadership ever thought, what if the doctor leaves to set an example and Rama himself remains there? How do you feel about this? Doctor, have you thought, are you sitting down?
Gjin Gjoni: The first major issue is Rama's departure, this is the primary demand. The demand of the group leading the protest, they do not ask for the departure of the opposition, but for change, the departure of the government, which is a cost for the entire Albanian population. If Mr. Berisha has been investigated and vetted for 35 years, in all that has been said and unsaid, how he has governed, in the other case, you have not and do not dare to call those from SPAK. He turns out to be the originator of every mechanism and corrupt connection and connection with crime and today the people have risen, this is Edi Rama. I have information from the inside, also because of his former position, that the files that are on the table, which have to do with concessions, crime, money laundering, have an originator. Does SPAK have the power to go to Rama? So far it has not gone, let's see what will happen.
Ylli Rakipi : Protesters say we want a new Albania. Do you feel like part of the new Albania?
Gjin Gjoni: Despite being about the same age as those in the studio, I have only recently entered politics.
Ylli Rakipi: I asked you if you feel yourself? For example, I don't feel that I have nothing to give. Do you feel it?
Gjin Gjoni: Yes, because I have been a participant in every cause since day one.
Ylli Rakipi: Can the doctor feel himself for the new Albania? Is there a place for the doctor in the new Albania?
Gjin Gjoni: Undoubtedly, he has supported the protest since day one.
Happening now...
Sali is gone, Rama is gone.
