"Malay must be held accountable"/ Hiding companies that benefited from 2 billion euros, the opposition accuses the minister

He was absent from the parliamentary committee, but Finance Minister Petrit Malaj could not escape the flood of questions in the plenary session about who the law on the forgiveness of taxes, fines and late payment interest is protecting.
Opposition MPs accused the minister of hiding the list of beneficiary businesses, in violation of the law.
On behalf of regular entrepreneurs who have paid their taxes, the Democrats held Petrit Malaj accountable, insisting that he account for the data of companies that are exempt from tax and customs duties, even casting doubt on the beneficiaries being the ones who commissioned the law.
The debate escalated to allegations of beneficiary names, and transparency over the process was demanded to stop the accusations.
The Democratic Party has sent a letter to the European Commission and the European Parliament, raising concerns that the fiscal amnesty disguised as "peace" undermines relations with the EU and is a danger to the economy.
