They sue each other for defamation/ Tirana Court rejects Rama and Berisha's request

The Court of First Instance in Tirana dismissed this Thursday the defamation lawsuit filed by Prime Minister Edi Rama against the leader of the Democratic Party several years ago.
This is about the statement made by DP leader Sali Berisha on the "Open" show on Top Channel in 2018.
Berisha declared at the time that Prime Minister Rama "had connections with the Avdyls, and also claimed that he had a video of the head of government consuming narcotics."
These statements ended up in court for defamation with the argument that "the defendant has spread false, misleading and denigrating information, creating the false story that the plaintiff is an accomplice to organized crime gangs and a drug user."
The lawsuit filed by the prime minister's defense demanded damages of 1,000,000 new leks as well as a refutation of those statements from 8 years ago.
On the other hand, Berisha's defense also filed a counterclaim against Rama, regarding a reaction by the latter a few months later on social networks where, in response to a follower, Rama used epithets against Berisha.
This counterclaim was also dismissed by the court in the same decision.
