“Faith Park”/ Rama: A unique space in Tirana. Not a symbol of

The "Faith Park", to be built in Tirana, is an idea that aims to create a new space dedicated to religious harmony, coexistence and spiritual heritage.

12 finalist teams from some of the most prestigious architecture offices in the world, representing the United Kingdom, Portugal, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Belgium, the Netherlands and Italy, presented their concepts before an international jury, with the aim of selecting the winning project that will shape this unique space.

Also present at this stage of the International Concept-Idea Competition for the master plan of the "Faith Park" was Prime Minister Edi Rama, who emphasized that this project is not about erasing the past, but about its continuity, about planting hope and the spirit of coexistence.

According to him, the "Faith Park" will not be a museum, but a tribute to the religious heritage in our country, tolerance to continue preserving the spirit of "religious brotherhood."

“This park is not about erasing the written, but about its continuity to sow hope and continuity. The park is not a symbol of religion, it is a shrine of worship that does not ask questions about what you believe, it only invites you to come and marvel at the silent endurance of the trees. God planted the Garden of Eden and then placed man, and in this garden the trees were not chosen only for beauty, but were companions of prophecy. This park is not a museum of faith, but a living scripture that is not written with ink but with roots, not with doctrines but with the shade of trees and earth, a space where silence is not the absence of a voice but the presence of attention. Albanians do not need to invent tolerance, we grew up with it, with the Mosque. Church, Tekke and Monastery side by side. What happened in that dark period where religion was sought to be eradicated with dynamite was also a much greater lesson in why you need tolerance," said Rama.

Rama said that this park will also be a response to the violence that is often committed in the name of the sacred.

"Pope Francis baptized this tolerance as the 'religious brotherhood' that we have gained, and this park honors this heritage and calls on us all to move forward. It is a response to the violence that is committed in the name of the sacred, to a generation that is at risk of losing spiritual knowledge," Rama said.

This initiative was undertaken by the Albanian Investment Corporation (AIC) in collaboration with the National Territorial Planning Agency (NTPA).

The “Faith Park” will be built within the Petrela Castle, transforming it into a new cultural and spiritual center of Tirana. The park will provide spaces for rest and interaction for different groups, nationalities and faiths, and will serve as a venue for events celebrating these communities.

"Faith Park" is inspired by the values of the Holy Scriptures and the values of religious harmony and coexistence that characterize Albania, virtues inherited across generations.
