''The President, the judges, the Guard and...''/ The government approves the indexation of salaries, here are the categories that benefit

The Council of Ministers has approved a package of decisions for the 2.5% indexation of salaries and their component elements in several categories of public administration for 2026.

(The decisions include increasing the salary of the President of the Republic and the basic reference salary for judicial and prosecutorial functions, as well as updating the salary structures for the Guard of the Republic, the Prison Police, anti-corruption coordinators, support workers and various specialties in the administration, as well as health system personnel.)

In addition to indexation, specific adjustments to allowances and compensations are also foreseen in some sectors.

The financial effects are covered by the approved budget for 2026 and the decisions enter into force after publication in the Official Gazette, with financial effects from January 1, 2026.
