Electoral reform brings together SP-PD, Gjiknuri and Oerd Bylykbashi await the ODIHR delegation

The Co-Chairs of the Special Parliamentary Committee on Electoral Reform, Damian Gjiknuri and Oerd Bylykbashi, received this Monday the ODIHR delegation, composed of Kakha Inaishvili, Raul Mureșan and Nataliya Vasylevska. During the meeting, the progress of the electoral reform to date and efforts to improve the legal framework, in line with European standards, were discussed.
It was Gjiknuri who, through a post on social media, informed the delegation that during this meeting, the new draft law on the Financing of Political Parties will be presented at the next session of the committee, a step that aims to increase transparency and integrity of the electoral process.
The importance of cooperation with international institutions to ensure a sustainable reform process in line with best European practices was also emphasized.
"Together with my colleague Oerd Bylykbashi, in the capacity of co-chairs of the Special Parliamentary Committee on Electoral Reform, we held a meeting with a delegation of representatives from the Council of Europe headed by Ionut Marian Stroe and Pavel Jablonski. During this meeting, the progress of the electoral reform and the work being done to further improve the legal framework in accordance with European standards were discussed. In this regard, we informed them that the new draft law on the Financing of Political Parties will be presented to the committee the next day ," writes Gjiknuri.
