160 ballot boxes are recounted in Tirana/ PS and DP lose votes, Fatmir Xhafaj's case stands out in the preferential vote

The vote recount process for the May 11 elections is continuing and so far 160 ballot boxes have been opened in Tirana.
Preliminary results from this process show slight fluctuations so far.
According to official data, the Socialist Party lost 62 votes compared to the initial count, while the Democratic Party lost 59 votes.
Although these figures do not drastically change the balance of the result, they do indicate that there were a number of inaccuracies in the first count.
The recount has also brought movement to the open lists of candidates for MPs. In the Democrats, where the race is between Ilir Alimehmeti and Jorida Tabaku for one mandate, both have received more votes. Alimehmeti has won 4 more votes, while Tabaku has 11 additional votes.
Meanwhile, in the socialist camp, the closest race is between Blerina Gjylameti and Olta Xhaçka, separated by only 128 votes. After the recount, Gjylameti gained 2 votes, while Xhaçka lost 1.
An interesting case is that of Fatmir Xhafaj, who turned out to have had 32 more votes counted than he actually had.
The process is expected to continue for more than a week, with a particular focus on Tirana, where every vote could affect the final distribution of mandates.
