The streets of Tirana are bustling on the 19th day of the civic protest, the march has been going on for about 4 hours
The civic protest continues in the main streets and squares of Tirana this evening, for about four hours. The rally started at 7:00 PM on the boulevard in front of the Prime Minister's Office, but the protesters stayed there for less than usual, as they quickly surrounded the area as soon as they learned that the MPs were there.
Their march forced Speaker Niko Peleshi to urgently close the plenary session, declaring that additional discussions had been withdrawn, while the prime minister, ministers, and MPs immediately left in different directions.
"Your end has come" was one of the phrases the crowd chanted for several minutes, until it turned back towards Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard.
This time, the protesters stopped in front of the Democratic Party headquarters, repeating the calls that along with Prime Minister Edi Rama, opposition leader Sali Berisha should also leave the political scene. There were insults between the protesters and the DP militants at a distance.
Citizens stopped the march under Edi Rama's office and held speeches for more than an hour.
As has become a nightly tradition, protesters are walking on foot on the main streets of Tirana's Small Ring Road, as they declared after the episode in Rinas that seemed to damage the civic spirit, thousands in number and with the same calls.
Tonight is the 19th night/day of the civic protest and on Saturday, even more massive participation has been announced as the diaspora has set off and will be coming towards Tirana.
