Today's hearing on the 'Partizani' affair is expected to decide whether Berisha and Malltezi will go to trial

The GJKKO is expected to decide this Friday at 09:30 in a preliminary session whether or not the file will go to trial, with the defendants being former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi and 3 others, businessman Fatmir Bektashi, Malltezi's partner, Xhimi Begeja and financier Andia Pustina.
Now that the defendants have finished their defense, in today's preliminary hearing it is the prosecutors' turn to respond to the lawyers' claims.
Afterwards, the preliminary hearing judge Flojera Davidhi is expected to make a final decision on whether to send the case to trial, which would be Berisha and Malltez's real confrontation with justice.
The process comes to this point after almost 4 and a half years since the start of the investigations and over 6 months after Sali Berisha, his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi and 3 others were named defendants, while the first preliminary hearing took place on October 24.
Berisha and Malltezi continue to be under security measures, the first under "compulsory appearance" and the second under "house arrest".
