Message from the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj
Thank you for your hundreds of letters, which give me courage every day. I am well, stronger and more determined than ever in the battle against evil!
I am posting for everyone, the first of a series of stories, from those who, intentionally or unintentionally, contributed to the trap set against me, which produced an illegal investigation from anonymity, a 20-year vetting of my entire life from youth, a Capital City sabotaged while it was at the peak of success, an inhuman persecution of my family, and a grotesque isolation, as if I were a war criminal or a cartel leader.
Read, that from this first lie the false protests started, were amplified with anonymous reports, accusations were made with the threat of witnesses and ended with the demolition of our Capital City Tirana. Therefore, everyone should read the notarial apology of Gabriele Tarroni Longinotti, as a lesson for the future.
– [ ] For the Italian, who neither knows me nor does he know me, but who started a life-destroying chain of events, to understand that I am not a vengeful person, but he and everyone else here in Albania, must understand that words have weight, and when they are false they break careers, cities and families, which will take decades to recover.
– [ ] For others, who became consciously or with political zeal part of this fabrication. I want to tell you that I am a prisoner, but I am not in prison. I am calm and liberated in my conscience. I hope that you have the strength to free yourself from the prison of your wickedness where you have locked yourself, as the truth and confession will set you free!
– [ ] But, most importantly, I do it for every Albanian who lives in fear of being eavesdropped on, looks for a secure line to talk to their family, turns their head away lest they be followed, puts their finger on their lips so they can't be heard, or hides their phone under their hips in their chairs! Albania is not a penal colony and this black cloud of fear that has overtaken the country in the name of new justice should never be allowed.
I hug you all with love! I will fight for myself and for each of you!
Excerpts from the notarial statement below:
(1) I have never seen Mr. Erion Veliaj travel, alone or in the presence of other persons, to Italy or meet anyone, much less that the purpose of such a visit was related to the incinerator;
(2) I have never met Mr. Erion Veliaj, neither in person nor in the presence of other persons, neither in Italy nor in Albania, at “Cioccolati Italiani” or “Tribe”, nor have I communicated with him, neither in person nor through other persons, by phone calls, messages or any other form of communication;
(3) I have neither knowledge nor evidence that Mr. Erion Veliaj participated or was involved in the purchase of the incinerator we had in Romania;
(4) All statements I have made regarding Mr. Erion Veliaj, in my interviews for the program “Piranjat” on “Syri TV”, as well as those I have implied, are untrue and were made by me in exchange for promises from these television media outlets and persons close to them, for financial benefits.
