
May 11th Elections/ Head of OSCE Mission arrives in Tirana, meeting with CEC Head Celibashi expected


The head of the OSCE/ODIHR election observation mission for the May 11 elections, Lamberto Zannier, has arrived in Tirana where he held a meeting with Minister Igli Hasani at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At 2:00 PM, he is expected to hold a meeting with the head of the Central Election Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi.
The observer mission is paying special attention to the elections, given Zannier's high profile.
The preliminary report of the election mission is expected on May 12th at noon, which will be followed a few months later by the final report.
Zannier previously served in Kosovo as head of the UNMIK mission from 2008 to 2011, a post he left after being appointed as OSCE Secretary General.
He served as Secretary General of the OSCE from 2011 to 2017.
