Former MP Dashamir Shehi has commented on the statements of former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, describing as a positive development the fact that he is speaking about issues related to his period in government.
Invited to the show "Minuta e Parë" on News24, Shehi said that Ahmetaj has more direct knowledge of developments within the government, as he has held high-level leadership positions for years.
According to Shehi, regardless of the motive behind Ahmetaj's statements, the information provided by him should be taken into consideration. He also stated that the assets of those who have benefited illegally should be confiscated.
"He hasn't said things that we don't know. But it's good that he's telling them. He's more trustworthy than me, because he was there. He was deputy prime minister, minister for years. I consider it positive that this man is speaking, repenting. He's speaking because he's angry, he's going to guarantee himself there through this statement, he's speaking because he's reflected. You have to take away the money from these people. If you take away the money, they can't buy lawyers, lobbyists, media with millions. Take the money and see. If you take away the money from these people, release them from prison, because they're no longer in business. Albanian justice doesn't stop here to call Rama. It's not in the international tradition. It's very rare. Rama and Berisha have come to an agreement with each other," said Shehi.
