Von der Leyen: Next week we will define the roadmaps for the countries with the greatest progress, which includes Albania

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that Albania is progressing well with the implementation of the EU Growth Plan, at a joint conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama.
"Albania is doing well in terms of the Growth Plan. You have fulfilled 80% of the reforms, you have received 213 million euros in funds and other payments are expected in the coming weeks. You have become part of SEPA. We are working on reducing roaming fees. It is a good opportunity for people to get closer to each other," said Von der Leyen, writes A2.
Von der Leyen further added: "You are preparing and we are preparing, as enlargement is a two-way process. For this reason, next week we will present our enlargement policy reviews. We will review our institutions, policies and budget, to make sure we are ready for new members. We will set out roadmaps for the candidate countries that have made the most progress. Albania is one of these countries."
When asked about restrictions on rights for the union's newest members, Von der Leyen replied: "We are working on the package and I cannot go into details. Previous treaties for candidate countries that are now members had some kind of safeguards. The commitments that are made during the accession process should continue even after you become a member."
