French Onion Soup Recipe

This onion soup is a flavorful and very unique recipe that comes from the French tradition.
The onions are sautéed in butter and then simmered in the beef stock creating a delicious base for the soup.
Adhering to tradition, a few slices of bread are placed on top of the soup and covered with cheese.
This is a recipe best enjoyed when the weather cools down! Follow the steps below to prepare this recipe yourself.
Ingredients
1/2 cup scallions
4 cups thinly sliced yellow onions
4 cups beef broth
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon black pepper
Long bun
Kačkavall cheese
Preparation
Thinly slice the onions in the recommended amount.
Melt the butter in a large pot and then add the onions.
Sauté the onions for about 15 minutes or until soft.
Add the stock, thyme, salt and pepper to the pot and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
Then divide the soup into individual heat-resistant containers and place a slice of bread in each.
Place about 1-2 slices of parmesan cheese on top of the bread.
Place the soup in the preheated oven for 4-5 minutes until the cheese melts.
Serve while hot!
