What's expected to happen? A new date has been set for the trial of Blake

A new date has been set for the trial of Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. The actress's lawsuit was originally scheduled to begin on March 9, 2026, but has been postponed to May 18.

Judge Lewis J. Lyman made the announcement during a hearing following the conclusion of the evidence exchange process on Tuesday, Dec. 9, explaining that he has two criminal trials and that “as important as this case is, they take precedence.” He also called on both sides to contact a justice of the peace to discuss a possible resolution.

The feud between the two actresses began in December 2024, when Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment, retaliatory behavior, and causing emotional distress.

In her lawsuit, the actress alleged that during their collaboration on the film "It Ends With Us," Baldoni sexually harassed her in numerous ways — including comments about her body — and that he organized a smear campaign against her with the aim of damaging her reputation, accusations he has denied.

Baldoni, on the other hand, had initially sought $250 million in damages from the New York Times, citing a newspaper article on the case, and had filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

The lawsuits filed by Justin Baldoni were initially dismissed last June, while in November the competent judge issued a final decision, stating that the actor had refused to file an amended complaint in his defamation and extortion counterclaim against Blake Lively and Reynolds.
