Meghan Markle talks about difficult childhood: I was ugly!

The Duchess of Sussex talks about her self-described 'ugly' childhood. However, new photos from her childhood disprove that. In 1993, aged 11, Meghan gave a television interview to Nickelodeon in a segment called 'Nick News'. As you will see, Meghan was a very beautiful little girl who was comfortable on camera.

In the video, little Meghan refers to a letter she sent to a well-known company, which in its advertisement for dishwashing detergent referred to women rather than people in general. In her letter, Meghan asked the company to replace the word women with people.

In her latest podcast, the 41-year-old Duchess of Sussex talked about how she looked as a little girl:

" I was ugly. Maybe I didn't have a conventional beauty, maybe today I would be considered beautiful, with lots of curly hair and a big gap in my teeth. Anyway, I was smart. I never had anyone to sit with for lunch during the school break. I was a bit lonely and really shy and I didn't know where I could fit in" . - Markle says
