The Berisha sisters face justice! The verdict on the injury of Klea Prenga is awaited

The two Berisha sisters, Antonela and Mariela, appeared today in the Tirana Court, where the final decision against them is expected to be issued regarding the event that occurred during the summer of 2024, when Klea Prenga, 26, was seriously injured after a physical conflict.

The event, which attracted widespread public and media attention, occurred in July of last year, when a physical altercation broke out between the girls that ended with the use of violence and serious consequences for one of them.

What did the Prosecution request?

According to official sources from the Tirana Prosecution Office, a 3-year prison sentence has been requested for Mariela Berisha, who is currently under house arrest. The prosecutor has argued that she had an active and direct role in the injury of Klea Prenga.

Given that the defense has requested a summary trial, in the event of a guilty verdict, her sentence may be reduced to 2 years in prison, in accordance with the criminal legislation in force.

For the other sister, Antonela Berisha, the prosecution has requested 3 years of probation, an alternative form of punishment that provides for supervision of the convicted person without direct prison time. Even in this case, if the summary judgment is accepted, the sentence could be reduced to 2 years of probation.

Charges against sisters: "Intentional serious injury" in collaboration

Both sisters face the serious charge of "intentional serious injury", committed in collaboration, a criminal offense punishable by several years of imprisonment under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Albania.

After several weeks of police searching, Antonela and Mariela Berisha surrendered in October 2024, deciding to submit to the investigation under lighter security measures, different for each.
