The sudden death of singer Shpat Kasapi has brought not only tributes, but also a strong clash between two well-known names on the Albanian scene, Adelina Tahiri and Adelina Ismaili, regarding the ethics of behavior on days of mourning.
Adelina Tahiri, recently invited to T7, has harshly criticized her colleague for holding a concert on the very night when the tragic news about Kasapi was announced.
Tahiri said that, although it was not necessary to cancel the concert, a minimal gesture of respect was expected. She stated: “ I congratulate him on his achievements, his successes, but that night at the concert he should have held at least a minute of silence, a short speech… I’m not saying cancel the concert, far from it, if only there had been something there.”
Her criticism became more severe when she called the lack of reaction morally unacceptable for an artist of that level. “It’s pathetic that she didn’t remember at all ,” she concluded.
So far, Adelina Ismaili has not yet publicly reacted to these criticisms.
