The Weeknd makes history with "Starboy": The first album with 17 billion streams on Spotify

The Weeknd's successful album "Starboy", released in 2016, has officially surpassed 17 billion streams on Spotify, joining a very small club of projects that have achieved this incredible record on the platform.

With this achievement, “Starboy” becomes the most streamed album in Spotify’s English-language history, surpassing many big names in the industry. It currently holds the second spot globally, right behind Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti,” which is in Spanish.

This isn't the first time The Weeknd has broken records. The Canadian-born artist previously held the most-streamed song of all time on the platform with "Blinding Lights," while his profile is among the most followed in the world.
