Calhanoglu: You didn't believe me when I said I'm among the top 5, I'm proving it

Hakan Calhanoglu has given an interesting interview, during which he "forgets" for a few moments his modesty. However, the 30-year-old deserves all the praise as he is the mastermind behind Simone Inzaghi's Inter, who have been working wonders this season.

"Months ago I said that I am among the five best directors in the world, but no one believed me. However, I have great confidence in myself, I know my qualities and I am not afraid of anyone.

Nobody scores the goals I score. I don't score goals from a meter away, but from a long way. As from penalty kicks. I do difficult and complicated things.

Top five in my role? Hakan Calhanoglu comes first... Then in order: Rodri, Toni Kroos, Kimmich and Enzo Fernandez.

I don't like to turn the ball back, I prefer to get straight and play the ball quickly. I try to use the created spaces.

My idol? Andrea Pirlo. I really liked his style of play and his calm demeanor on the court. He did not feel the stress and pressure at all. I don't forget the penalty he scored against Hart in Euro 2012. Pirlo is my idol, he was number one."

Calhanoglu has 11 goals and 3 assists so far this season. Inter is dominating Serie A and is very close to the second star. The Italian team wants to go all the way to the Champions League again.
