Formula 1/ Verstappen triumphs in Qatar, title decided in the last race

Max Verstappen wins the Qatar Grand Prix today and is back strongly in the race for the championship title, with one more track left to visit, that of Abu Dhabi.

The merit of a perfect race for him, but also an extraordinary blunder by the McLaren team.

The latter seemed in complete control of the race, with Piastri and Norris in the top two places and in control after a few laps.

But on lap 8, when the safety car appeared, everyone went into the pits except for the two McLaren cars.

This gave Verstappen the opportunity to make the tire change as he wanted with a different strategy.

And thanks to precise planning even at the second stop, he took the lead of the race, breaking away from Piastri who was following him in second place, but also Norris, who slipped to fifth place, in a race where the McLaren cars were significantly faster than their rivals.

Norris managed to take advantage of Antonelli's exit in front of him on the last lap to take at least fourth place, but not to pass Sainz, who climbed to the third step of the podium.

Thus, with only one race remaining until the end of the season, Norris leads the championship with 408 points, followed by Vershtappen with 396 points and Piastri with 392 points.

Everything will be decided in a week in Abu Dhabi, with a variety of combinations that could make each of these pilots world champions.
