"We offered Messi 1.4 billion euros, but he refused", can the president of Al Hilal be trusted?

In an interview with the NIBC channel, Al Hilal president Anmar Al Haili revealed the details of the astronomical offer he made in the summer of 2023 to sign Lionel Messi.

Al Haili was willing to do anything to see the Argentine wear the colors of the Saudi club, coached by Jorge Jesus, and came up with the proposal when the player was at the end of his contract with PSG.

"We contacted Messi at the end of his contract with PSG. We presented him with a proposal of 1.4 billion euros, but the player refused because his family was looking for the United States of America", said the president of Al Hilal, referring to Messi's move to Inter Miami.

"It is surprising that the player was able to turn down such a big offer because of his family. He managed to convince the family, but he did not hesitate to refuse. We respect this, because family is more important than money", concluded Anmar Al Haili.
