Bad news for Barcelona, ​​they lose Yamal at the most critical moment of the season

Barcelona, ​​after the relevant tests, has published the medical report for Lamine Yamal, regarding the condition of his right ankle, as well as the confirmation of the absence of the 17-special talent for 3 to 4 weeks.

The official medical report clarifies that Lamine has suffered a first-degree injury to the front "intertibio-peroneal" ligament of the right ankle. This injury will keep him out for a period of 3 to 4 weeks.

For sure, he will miss the important match against Atlético Madrid next weekend. He also lost the match against Barbastro in the King's Cup.

At best, he could return for the Spanish Super Cup semi-finals against Athletic Club. But if the recovery takes 4 weeks, his participation in the possible final on January 12 remains in doubt.

The absence of Lamine Yamal comes at a difficult moment for the Catalan team. Barça have managed just one win in their last 6 La Liga matches, accumulating 3 defeats. What started as a slump in form now appears to have turned into a sporting crisis.

With Atlético Madrid next up in La Liga, Barcelona lose one of their most important and creative players just when the team needs to recapture their best form.

The injury happened during the last game, where Lamine suffered a sprained ankle after 15 minutes of play. Despite the pain, the "La Masía" talent stayed on the field until the 75th minute, when he was replaced by Gavi.

Marcus Sorg, who managed the team in the absence of Hansi Flick, avoided giving details during the press conference:  "I can't say it's good, we'll have to wait for the examinations of the medical staff."

Now, the results confirm the suspicions: the youngster will be sidelined at a crucial moment of the season. Barcelona are hoping that Lamine Yamal recovers as soon as possible, as his absence is a heavy blow for a team that is looking to return to continuity and success.
