Who is Ines Rau?

Born in 1990 to Algerian parents in Paris, France, Ines Rau transitioned at the age of 16 but kept her sexuality under control until she was 24 before going public with her story.

Ines also featured in Playboy magazine for their November issue, making her the first openly transgender woman to appear in this way. After her transition, Ines described it as liberating. She wrote in her autobiography: "I feel that my soul is finally free as if the padlock that kept me locked up for so long has been opened. This time I am fully a woman."
