Left Albania, Adrian Bajrami receives invitation from Switzerland

Defender Adrian Bajrami has received his first call-up to the Swiss national team, thus taking an important step in his international career.
The Swiss coach's decision came just a month after the 23-year-old from Winterthur, of Albanian origin, chose to refuse to represent Albania, although he had previously been part of the Rossoneri in training camps and plans of the technical staff.
Switzerland will face two tough challenges in October, as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers: on October 10 against Sweden and on October 13 against Slovenia, both away.
The invitation for Bajram is seen as an opportunity to be tested at high levels, while in Albania, this move leaves a significant void, as the defender was considered a promising alternative for the defensive department.
