British sportsman Liam Canning has died at the age of 23, his Rossendale Rugby Club announced .
The 23-year-old was the father of two children, leaving behind his pregnant wife and young children.
His wife in a reaction on social networks has posted a photo from their wedding with the inscription: I will always love you, forever my best friend.
Liam's club held tributes to the athlete, expressing condolences for the loss at such a young age.
"Liam passed away on Wednesday. Liam was truly special and a very positive addition to Rossendale Rugby Club. "Liam's high energy and positive spirit was loved and appreciated on and off the field. We send our deepest condolences to Liam's wife Paige, children and family ," the club said.
