Tim Cook steps down as Apple CEO after 15 years

Tim Cook has ended his 15-year tenure as Apple CEO, sending a farewell message to staff and describing his years at the helm of the company as "the privilege of a lifetime."

Cook, 65, will continue to serve as executive chairman of Apple's board, while John Ternus, former senior vice president of hardware engineering, takes over the company.

During Cook's tenure, Apple became one of the largest companies in the world and introduced products like the Apple Watch, AirPods, and Apple Vision Pro.

"I love this company and the team behind it. I couldn't let this day go by without telling you how grateful I am," Cook wrote in his message.

Ternus, who joined Apple 25 years ago, said he was honored by the new role and promised to continue leading the company according to its values ​​and vision.

He immediately faces a significant challenge: leading Apple's new product launch, which is expected to include new iPhone and Apple Watch models, as well as the company's first foldable phone.
