Three citizens, Ervin Vrioni, Beonard Prençi and Adgert Fejza, have filed a request for criminal trial against Prime Minister Edi Rama, for the criminal offenses of "Insult" and "Defamation".

According to the document dated October 29, 2026, filed with the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana, the three applicants claim to have been violated by Rama's public statements on October 23, during a communication where he presented photographs of people he linked to the protests in Tirana and made statements about their criminal past.

According to them, these statements have violated the honor, dignity, and personal and social reputation of their clients.

Their lawyer, Altin Goxhaj, said that Prime Minister Edi Rama has a duty to appear at the first session of the GJKKO.

"Today we are at the Special Court to bring Edi Rama here, they won't take him, we will bring him. They won't take Belinda and not Rama anymore. According to the law, anyone who has a lawsuit for defamation, for insult has the right to bring Edi Rama to the Special Court."

Edi Rama wanted to blackmail citizens, opponents and left defamation and insult in the Criminal Code, not in the Civil Court. This is why three honest, insulted citizens who were defamed 4-5 days ago by Rama, accusing them of criminal precedents that do not exist, have brought Rama to justice both for the defamation he committed and for the insult he committed against them. Here we are for the criminal part, very soon we will be for the civil part as well.

Here we are with the documents received from the Albanian state, which is the proof of the criminal record. The only one who has not brought it is Ervin Vrioni, because they have confiscated his cell phone and he cannot take the proof of the criminal record to Albania.

"We will request it in writing as it used to be done. Today we have three criminal testimonies that prove that Rama has slandered and insulted. Rama cannot escape without appearing, because the law stipulates the obligation of the party to appear at the first session, then to bring lawyers. Whether Rama will come or not, these people know that. We will also file a criminal report for what he did that day, but today we are for the special court," Goxhaj said, among other things.
