Injured with a rubber bullet during the student protest, Erjon Vishkulli shares footage after surgery

Erjon Vishkulli, the 28-year-old from Elbasan who was seriously injured in his left eye during the October 24 student protest in Tirana, has shared on social media footage from the hospital in Italy, after the surgical intervention that saved his eye.
"When God decides to perform a miracle, nothing is impossible," the young man writes, conveying his message after the surgery.
Erjon's friends and relatives have also published photos of him in the hospital, accompanied by the caption "Our Tiger!", as a sign of support for the 28-year-old, who has faced a difficult period after being injured during the protest.
The news of the successful completion of the surgical intervention has brought relief, however, full recovery of vision remains a process that will be evaluated by doctors in the future.

The Tirana Prosecutor's Office has launched investigations to clarify the circumstances of Vishkull's injury and to verify suspicions of disproportionate use of force by State Police officers.
Investigators have seized security camera footage from the Bank of Albania, examined the scene and seized rubber bullet casings as material evidence. The weapons and ammunition used by the Rapid Intervention Forces are also being verified.
The prosecution aims to determine with expertise the type of object that injured the young man and to identify the person who may have fired the shot. The investigation also includes other cases of people injured during the protest.
