24 people poisoned during a party in Italy, including 17 children

A mass poisoning episode has been recorded in the city of Genoa, Italy, where 24 people, including 17 children, received medical attention after being exposed to carbon monoxide during a religious celebration.
According to Italian media, the incident is suspected to have occurred as a result of the use of a faulty heater inside a closed environment. Children aged between three months and 12 years were the first to show signs of poisoning, while symptoms later appeared in adults as well.
The minors were transported to the Gaslini Hospital in Genoa, where some of them received oxygen therapy. Medical staff said all patients are in stable condition and not in danger of life.
The seven adults present at the party were admitted to San Martino Hospital, where they are being treated for symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure.
