Lala: Within 2026, Rama will be indicted by SPAK

Journalist Klodiana Lala says that Rama has started a "frontal battle" with the new justice institutions. According to her, Rama was aware of all the corruption cases, and with full conviction indicates that the prime minister will be summoned or be under investigation by SPAK within 2026.
This slowdown in the process of lifting Balluk's immunity, according to Lala, is seen as a test to measure strength and to create precedents that can serve to protect other senior political figures in the future.
For Lala, the prime minister's ultimate goal is not to protect Balluk, but to protect himself. By paving a new legal and procedural "ground," he aims to "armor" his and the government's position, especially for the period after he is no longer in power, when vulnerability to the law increases.
This strategy, Lala emphasized, places him in direct conflict not only with SPAK, but also with international partners, who consider the independent functioning of this structure as a non-negotiable condition of justice reform.
The outcome of this battle will be decisive for the future of the rule of law and the fight against corruption in Albania, showing whether no one will be above the law anymore, or whether politics will once again succeed in setting limits on justice.
"The story with Mrs. Balluku started in October of last year and it took a long way to get to the day we are today, where a vote in the assembly is expected regarding SPAK's request for permission to arrest her. We must bear in mind that the two events are unrelated to each other. The suspension from exercising her functions, which remained in effect after a long ordeal and the case going all the way to the Constitutional Court, remained in force. In fact, today it no longer has any value, because Mrs. Balluku is not in those functions. On the other hand, SPAK insists on sending her behind bars, insisting on two essential moments. First, they say that the lady in question is intimidating witnesses and there are suspicions, so in the wiretapping between her two subordinates there are, there are strong suspicions that she may have used even those who are considered strong to intimidate them.

Some aspects of the justice reform cannot be touched. And one of them is SPAK.
