Speculation about Trump's health after the stain on his neck, the president's personal doctor reacts

The US president has drawn attention over the past year for suspected signs of fatigue and symptoms of poor blood circulation, including swollen ankles and bruising on the backs of his hands, as was noted during his February 2025 meeting with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.

Sean Barbabella, Trump's personal physician, said the president is using a common cream to treat the spot under his right ear. He added that the treatment began a week ago and that the redness could last for several weeks.

Independent doctors have speculated that the cause of the rash could be contact dermatitis, an inflammation of the skin from contact with irritants, or eczema, a chronic and itchy inflammation of the surface layer of the skin.

They also do not rule out psoriasis, a chronic non-contagious disease with red plaques covered with white scales, or a herpes zoster infection, also known as Herpes Zoster, caused by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus.
