Through conversations on the "Sky" application, the Special Prosecution Office SPAK claims to have uncovered another serious event in Vlora, such as the murder of Bledar Birçaj.

For this murder and that of Gentian Qarri, as well as cocaine trafficking, the SPAK special prosecution office continued today with the announcement of several people wanted, while several others have been arrested.

Inez Hajrulla and Ervis Matodashaj have been declared wanted, while Flodian Plaku, Rezart Kuçi and Hamëz Demushi have been arrested.

The murder of Bledar Birçaj is reported by journalist Elton Qyno to have been committed due to clashes in cocaine trafficking in Spain.

The 40-year-old was executed on May 10, 2021, in a well-organized assassination attempt, while he was traveling in his BMW X5 vehicle in a place called Bishti i Kalldrëmit. The vehicle was shot over 30 times, with 7 bullets killing him. He died in hospital.

Bledar Birçaj is a name not unknown to the Vlora police, as on December 21, 2010, Birçaj, together with his brother, Elton Birçaj, brutally raped the former mortgage lawyer of Vlora with the initials FH. The two brothers were prosecuted for this incident while still at large. The cause of this incident was the problems they had with the documentation of a property located in the city of Vlora.

Bledar Birçaj was arrested on January 27, 2011 by the police and the Vlora prosecution office after being suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Premeditated Murder" committed in collaboration with an attempt; "unauthorized production and possession of weapons and ammunition"; and "Destruction of property".

He initially remained in prison under the measure of arrest in prison for 45 days and then on March 9, 2011, the Vlora court determined the security measure of "arrest in prison".

On April 26, 2011, the Vlora court decided to replace the security measure of arrest in prison with mandatory appearance and detention abroad.

On July 25, 2011, the Vlora prosecutor's office decided to discontinue the investigation into Bledar Birçaj, arguing that they did not prove the charge of attempted premeditated murder. Birçaj received financial compensation of 2 million 760 thousand old lek for his 122 days in prison.

Birçaj was the owner of a well-known bar in the Lungomare area of Vlora.
