Following the decision of the Court of Appeal, Martina Pajollari has been under house arrest for two weeks, having exceeded her pre-trial detention period.
The Court of First Instance in Korça has imposed the security measure of house arrest on Pajollari and the three other defendants, Valter Mollaj, Edlir Mollaj and Bleti Angjo.
The four detainees are accused of killing the young man Martin Çeço. Martina Pajollari, contacted by the media, refused to give a statement to the media, stating that:
" Everything I have to say, I have said in court. I don't want to talk about the media ."
The serious incident occurred on June 12, 2022 in the village of Kolavec in Maliqi, where the young man's body was found strangled with a rope and thrown into a reservoir, two days after the family had reported him missing.
Cousins Valter and Edlir Mollaj, shepherd Bledi Angjo, and Martina Pajollari, who had ambushed the victim, were found guilty of this crime.
Meanwhile, the Court of Appeal in Tirana overturned the decision of the Court of First Instance in Korça, which on February 10, 2025 had sentenced the accused for the murder of Martin Çeço to a total of 83 years in prison.
The trial panel decided to return the case for retrial to the same court, but with a different panel of judges.
