Drug lab in Frakull/SPAK makes 2 defendants collaborators, developments awaited

The Public Prosecution Office has granted the status of justice collaborator to two of the defendants in the criminal proceedings related to the drug laboratory in Frakull.

One of them is a foreign citizen and the other is Albanian, but the names are being kept confidential due to investigative secrecy, investigations in which there is continuous coordination with international partners.

The collaborators, the sources say, have provided new names and episodes as being involved in the criminal activity, while so far over 15 people have been identified in the framework of 3 proceedings, as the investigation began in 2022 when a cocaine processing laboratory was discovered in the Çervanalu family's apartment in Frakull i Fieri, where over 480 kg were seized, which was suspected to have been brought from Colombia and hidden in a load of artificial organic fertilizer.

Klevent Gjolena, Aldi Zonja and Musa Gjikola have been arrested, while Kevin (Arjan Margjoni) and Durim Keçi have been declared wanted. Earlier, on 13.1.2026, the Special Prosecution Office decided to separate the criminal proceedings no. 141/1 of 2023 and register them as criminal proceedings no. 141/1.1 of 2026, continuing the investigations into the criminal offenses “Trafficking in narcotics”, “Production and sale of narcotics”, “Structured criminal group” and “Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization or a structured criminal group”.

On 24.11.2022 in Frakull e Madhe, Fier, former mayor Viktor Cervanaku, Nikolin Gjolena, Denilson Cervanaku, Klajdi Vrioni alias Klajdi Kodra, Zenel Cervanaku, Redion Meshi, Enxhi Ferhati, Marildo Rona, Bledar Matoshi and Julian Malaj were arrested, wanted or prosecuted, and sentenced to a total of 88 years in prison, while the trial of a Colombian citizen, Samir Rosales Rodriguez, continues.

Meanwhile, the other faction's defendants are Klevent Gjolena, Aldi Zonja and Musa Gjikola, who brought cocaine with cowhide from Latin America and processed it in 3 laboratories that were discovered in Albania.
